The Artist's Mess (challenge)

I honestly can not believe what I am about to do..you might want to brace yourself along with me! I was at Julie Molina's blog last night and she challenged everybody who stopped by to post pics of their "artist's mess" studios. EEK!!! I had planned to act like I didn't read it but another artist friend messaged me and I said I am not allowed to ignore Julie's challenge! Why does it feel as if I am about to bare my soul for the world to see? I can't decide if I'm more afraid of showing my mess or sharing my space. This little spot has been my sanctuary, a place of healing, growth, self discovery, and the place where many of my dreams were born. ...oh, it is definately my favorite spot in my house!
Here is goes....
Cropped? Who cropped what??? hehe... Yes, that is my work desk that has no room to actually create a project on it! That is where old books converted into "lap desks" come in handy!

I can deal with exposing my studio in tiny peeks like this :

A few of my all time favorite antique photos! That enchanting little shadowbox pin was created and gifted to me by Angela Hoffmann.

Would you like a piece of lamp candy? Go ahead take one!

But the messy part...gasp...

a BIG JUMBO THANK YOU to Cheryl at Rosey Posey Confections for showing me this little link trick!

Good for you! I know EXACTLY how you feel because I couldn't believe I was showing a photo of MY space.

Your space is as beautiful and magical as I imagined. I can see that you do indeed have a magic work bench that you use to make your delightful pieces. I wish I could see more detail because it looks like you have beautiful stuff on that table!
Hooray for Debrina. It's not 'messy' it's a place where work happens.

You are a brave soul to show your studio table! I had to spend a whole afternoon organizing mine a few weeks ago. I could have used a snow shovel to clear the piles of stuff off of it! Remember a messy table is a sign of uninhibited creativity!

Hey, it looks pretty normal to me. I guess I need to cough up a messy (true) photo of my studio. I just cleared off my work table but it only takes about an hour to mess it up again.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
You don't have to do anything, it's automatic when we click on the photo. It just gets big.

Debrina, i think your work space looks wonderful:) i hope you know how lucky you are to be able to have things all over the place...i have to create in the kitchen or dining room and all supplies HAVE to be put away or the bad kitties will take off with whatever catches their fancy...i hope someday to have a little work space of my own where i can just close the door and leave everything OUT and ready to be used!!!

So this is where the fairies take flight? I'll have to tell them I saw where they came from when I say goodnight!

Thanks for your comments Debrina! I've added you to my blog! Your studio space looks so colorful and fun - just like your work!!! I'm going right now to straighten up as I just came home from an antique store and Hobby Lobby with lots of bags. When I get more stuff I feel the need to straighten up first - like I can't just bring things into the mess :). Talk to you later!
